BARCA bought the Salamá farm with more than 1000 ha in 2006 in order to reforest it for European investors. At the time of the acquisition, the farm was a melina plantation run by Ston Forestal, although there were cattle and banana crops in previous years. Farm 74 was planted with teak in 2008 with the best silvicultural practices and forest certification, and then harvested and cleared in 2025.
