BARCA acquired the farm in 2004 in order to reforest it along with the adjoining farms known internally as farms 42 and 52, which form an area of high agricultural value for its fertile soils and flat. The teak plantation was managed under the principles of forest certification and harvested in 2018 and is currently being used to graze cattle, taking advantage of the proximity to the Riyito River that has water all year round.
Farm 45 was cleared after the teak harvest, which is why it has a more established pasture than on our other properties. The farm is flat and mechanizable, suitable for low elevation agriculture, as well as for reforestation, agroforestry or agrosilvopastoral projects.
Access to this farm is from the road that connects Rincón de Osa with Drake Bay, entering by a public gravel road on the left for 1.5 kilometers, then turning south on a public road that communicates with the Quebrada Sucia Farm.
